About

The Workshop on Teaching Sociology is a collaborative space for faculty and PhD students to engage critically and creatively with the practice of teaching in the discipline. Rooted in the Graduate Center, CUNY, the workshop meets monthly to support emerging and experienced educators alike by fostering dialogue on pedagogy, course design, classroom engagement, and inclusive teaching strategies.

We aim to create opportunities for professional development, mentorship, and scholarly exchange around the art and science of teaching sociology. Through conversations, shared resources, and article discussions, we work to strengthen teaching practices and contribute to the broader scholarship of teaching and learning in sociology.

Whether you’re developing your first syllabus or reimagining a course you’ve taught for years, the workshop is a space to ask questions, explore ideas, and grow as an educator.
